I'm playing this now too! I'm new to Trails but it's quickly becoming one of my favourite series.

I recently replayed Gears 2 and Road to Ruin and I agree. It tried to do some interesting things with semi-stealth segments but I feel it was a bit too repetitive and didn't really fit with the tone of what happened storywise prior to that segment. So I can understand why they decided to cut it. I haven't played Aftermath (and Judgment in general), but planning to catch up later this year.

I've been chin deep in The Long Dark lately and it is EXACTLY up my alley.

Cold, slow, thoughtful, challenging but fair, player driven, quiet, OH smurf A BEAR, relaxing, pensive, emotionally satisfying.

Hades 2 - way deeper customization and storyline than the first. Super fun to pick up and play a run.

Donkey Kong Bananza - It is very satisfying to smash through everything. Sometimes I just sit there and smash.

Tales of Xillia - I've been in a gaming rut of late where I start a lot of games but none of them grab me. This game managed to break that cycle! Took a third party app (Special K) to get the Steam version running without screen tear, but the payoff has been good so far.

    Cool

I'm currently playing Baldur's Gate 3 for the first time and it's completely consumed my thoughts haha. I've never played Baldur's Gate before but have been playing DnD for five plus years so I'm very happy I'm already familiar with a lot of the mechanics haha

Alundra has held up surprisingly well. Having not played it for decades, I'd forgotten the solutions to all the puzzles and they've been intriguing. The general story concept is also really cool. The writing is a bit silly at times, and very simple in the amount of dialogue - as was the norm for RPGs of the time. I had a hankering for playing a game with a "save the town" rather than a "save the world" vibe, and this is really scratching that itch perfectly. I feel like I only ever really get that feeling from Fable and Alundra.

I've finally gotten around to starting Ghost of Tsushima and honestly, the visuals are just as stunning as everyone says, I spend half my time in photo mode! It's a bit of a change of pace from the retro survival horror stuff I usually lean towards, but the combat is so satisfying.

That's definitely a great one Badr! Eventually I will get to the sequel.
