It's probably best to use Aero as your first turn, Jinx. This reduces the chance the opponent will use MAG instead of you, and also maximises the damage they will take (especially so if they use abilities or items alongside stats).

Agreed. But I'll have to be careful that the other team doesn't cotton on too soon always use MAG first. Also, if I'm fighting against a character with a mega MAG stat, it might not pay off to use Aero. The extra hit might not be worth it (also depending on what their special ability is).
Although if you have a consumable item that raises MAG it'd probably be in your favor to start off using that so people will feel intimidated and not use MAG against you, before you then use Aero and they realize you've just been covering your weakness =P Something like that.

If we use abilities that lower stats do they remain lowered forever or just for the fight.
You also clarified that I can't use my ability after I've used the stat it relates to.
