Default Do You Like "Adventure" games?

I guess this is the genre according to Google. Games like Life is Strange, Firewatch, Gone Home, Until Dawn, where it's not super gameplay or action heavy, more narrative driven, with you making choices here and there. That sort of thing.

I've been getting in to them lately. They're good for more relaxing gameplay, and I can play them while focusing on other things like homework.

Do you like these types of games?

I loved Heavy Rain. I still have Beyond: Two Souls in my collection, waiting to play. I'm a fan of these games, though I know not everyone agrees.

I used to play a lot of adventure games in the past. There was this Polish game called "The Prince and the Coward" and it was awesome

Fortunately, visual novels are called Adventure Games in Japan.

Okay okay I guess that's cheating. But although I rarely ever play adventure games since they're conceptually so similar to VNs I certainly 'like' them.

They are basically different takes on the same genre, so it counts

An interactive adventure game is what a visual novel would be if they had tons of money to spend on cutscenes and environments.

I played pretty much all those old Sierra games back in the day. Also the Tex Murphy series. And the Lucasarts games. The newer Telltale games and stuff like Heavy Rain are adventure-like but are a lot heavier on the narrative and dialogue choices. The actual puzzle solving aspects are pretty tame compared to when this genre was in its prime.

I love Adventure games, though I haven't played many new ones lately -- Dreamfall Chapters was the most recent, and only the first chapter of it as I recall, but I was quite satisfied with it.
