Balancing the Careers
Which jobs in this game were absolutely the best, and which ones were thrown in the discard pile? How good was the game at balancing the relative usefulness of each job?

In terms of classes being balanced against each other, the DS version does a pretty good job of making all of the classes relevant for the whole game and giving the player the opportunity to use any combination they want.
In terms of actual balance in accordance with overall gameplay, the Famicom classes fared a bit better on account of not being too overpowered like their DS counterparts. In the DS version, you could just use the classes you want and waltz through most of the game, in the original, you had to evolve or die. Hence why the classes are tiered as you're meant to actually drop them as you progress.
