I'm pretty open about gaming nerd cred but I don't actually have too many discussions about it with strangers or co-workers. I have a few friends I'll head to bars to and have a night of drinking and discourse but if a minor acquaintance mentions it, I'll say a few words and leave it that. So I guess I do hide the fanatical side of it.

I don't really express my interest or knowledge in the games, until I hear an acquaitance say something that is completely wrong and I correct the smurf out of them, then go back to doing whatever I was doing as if nothing happened.

I don't go out of my way to talk much about it, but if I see someone else into it I'll open up and get a feel for their nerdyness. If they are FF people I tell them about the site.
