How do you percieve the fans of each game? (very old thread inspired)

I admit it. I'm a geek. I trawl through threads and find inspiration.

However I am taking this idea and putting a more positive spin on it from the original thread (which was entitled Stupid FF Fans)

So....current users I'm curious to know your perception of the fans for each of the FFs (theres more FFs since the original thread too)

Heres what I think:

1. Retro God Intrigies
2. Very very brave and patient
3. Made of Rocks
4. Brains I dont understand
5. The best Old Skool Peeps in the World
6. My Old Skool Heroes (for being able to complete this)
7. The Best Golden Era Peeps in the World
8. My Golden Era Heroes (for being able to complete THIS)
9. Those Chivalrous Ones
10. Ones who Understand Complex Plots Better than I (dont tell my boyfriend I said this)
11. Lucky People who had an Internet Connection in two thousand and whatever
12. Boring People who like.....(No! Midgar Mist! Dont start a debate! Go Underground UNDERGROUND!)
13. Thankfully I have no idea (you cant get me in this crossfire so ha!)
14. Lucky People with an Internet Connection whose newer computers can cope with the download or whatever
15. Hype filled Hypers

FFVI: Bit haughty; "this is the TRUE great FF, not VII."

FFVIII: Weirdos.

FFIX: Same as VI really but more vocal because IX is so "underappreciated."

I know some who get a bit haughty about 8. My mind can't cope with that gameplay very well. I love to grind....but the monsters gain strength with me. I love to use magic but....I have to use the Draw command and stock. Why do that when you can have MP, tents and ethers? Why junction magic to stats only to lose it upon casting? Why make weapon upgrades insanely difficult, whic directly affect limit breaks you can only use when you're near death?

So yeah.....I still don't know how to fully complete this game. But....that final dungeon is cooool :-D

Here are my opinions of the fans of the FF titles. No controversy here, honest.


FF 1-9: Keepers of the secret knowledge who mock me, a mere initiate into the realms of FF, for I have not yet tasted of the holy VII, or known the glory of mighty Cloud, blessings be upon him.

FF 10: there are 2 kinds of X fans, the ones who realise that Tidus is a poorly-dressed idiot, and the incorrect ones.

Ff 10-2: People who can have a laugh and don't take themselves too seriously.

FF 11: Weirdoes who want to interact. With actual PEOPLE. Whilst playing a video game. Madness.

FF 12: People who can appreciate a fairly engaging story, well-drawn characters and a visually diverse and interesting world.

FF 13: People who can enjoy a decent, if flawed game, without comparing it to the wonders of the holy VII every five seconds.

FF 13-2: The minority not put off by 13, who then go on to enjoy an engaging time-travel romp.

FF Lightning Returns: The minority not put off by either XIII or XIII-2, who then go on to enjoy a game which addresses most of the criticisms levelled at XIII and XIII-2, being a largely non-linear game set in an expansive world, with well-designed gameplay.

FF 14: More sociable Weirdoes. Why aren't you playing video games all on your lonesome whilst quietly weeping to yourself, like God intended?!

You gotta do what I do and play MMOs solo. The only time I ever socialize with people in FFXIV is for mandatory dungeons. And the only time I socialize with people in WoW is... uh... never

I agree with the anti social gamers. Who wants to actually talk to loads of others while gaming? Socialising in real life is exhausting enough
