The job system is the character advancement system that has appeared in FF the most often, and for good reason! It's just super fun. So which game do you think did it best?
FF I - choose a job, then upgrade it
FF III - you get better jobs as you go
FF V - jobs are more balanced - mix and match abilities
FF X-2 - no mixing and matching, but you can change them in battle
FF XI - main job+ sub job
FF XIV - just change your weapon/cross-class abilities
FF Tactics - learn abilities from various classes to unlock new ones
FF TA - same as above, but require a bit less effort and are race-exclusive
FF TA2 - as above, but more advanced classes need to be unlocked through sidequests
FF Dimensions - FF V's system, but the jobs are split between the Warriors of Light and Darkness
FF: 4 Heroes of Light - Crown system - upgrade jobs by adding gems
Bravely Default - basically the FF V system on steroids

I chose Tatics, it was my first time learning the class difference and enjoyed it.
This thread was just put up today, but I don't remember voting, but it says I voted. My favorite is X-2's.
I voted for Tactics. I still haven't played X-2 and I haven't played V in a long time though so that may change.
X-2. You get to go all Sailor Moon when you switch jobs.
FF V. really its similair to BD's but uh less flashy costumes. being 2d ofcourse.
I picked FFTA because I just loved the races, but FFV, FFT, and Bravely Default are all pretty dang close. I love the mix-and-match element. It's super fun combining jobs with different abilities to make up your own unique character set. Changing dresspheres on the fly was fine and all, but it's still not quite up there.
I can't really decide between FFV and FFTactics. V has balance, which is more than I can say for the rest of the entries on the list, but Tactics not only has my favorite version of the system, but probably my favorite set of classes. The setting also works well for the system.
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
X-2. Love the Mascots.
