A side villain is anyone that isnt the main villain. i may get this wrong so.... theres always the Other option.
Also. in the cases like Golbez. Technicly Zemus was the mastermind so he was the true villain.

Xande is not a side villain. I could say the same thing about Seymour but I know it would be a waste of time to bring up this topic.

Of the list, I liked Golbez the best. Big soft spot for big guys with a big heart, especially if they made a heel-face turn at some point.
It is not about being "wrong"; just that Dark Cloud and [Sin] can hardly be considered real villains.

Of the list I've always really liked Shinra and wished he and the company had continued to be important in the endgame. Outside of the list I would say Gilgamesh is the best.
Ultros wins for humour value, as do Zorn and Thorn in FFIX.

Edea and Seifer were both great side villains so I choice them. Even though Squalls rival didn't make the list.

Oh, they're villains all right. Even Big Bads. But not primary antagonists, and that's the difference here. An antagonist doesn't have to be a villain, just someone opposing a protagonist. If they're their main opposing force throughout most of the story, they're a primary antagonist. So Xande, Golbez, Edea, and (arguably) Seymour are primary antagonists.It is not about being "wrong"; just that Dark Cloud and [Sin] can hardly be considered real villains.
