It looks incredible. Hopefully we get it in the West before 2017, although that seems increasingly unlikely.
Hilarious in hindsight that this was initially announced for 2013..

2018 seems like a stretch for Europe. Atlus has been bad with releasing their stuff here, true, but ever since Persona 4 things got better, at least for Persona (SMT IV is another matter completely). I think that, if we end up getting a release too, we'll be getting it not long after the US. That is, if someone steps in to publish it here, since neither Ghostlight or NIS of America publish Atlus stuff here anymore.
Looks pretty damn snazzy.
Also, Sega is taking over the distribution of Atlus titles at this point, so PAL regions might luck out and see this game sooner rather than later.
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
I am incredibly excited for P5. I really hope they don't make me choose between it and FFXV though, because FF will always win for me.
Just rewatched the trailer and noticed something interesting. The girl with glasses is looking through her phone contacts at one point. One of the names is "Joker" written in katakana... Could it be...?
If the Persona 4 Arena games taught me anything, it was to never get my hopes up for a unified Persona-verse.
Joker is actually the call sign for one of the characters, most likely the hacker chick since she looks to be the game's new Navigator according to the subtitled trailer.

Her persona is called Necronomicon, if the MegaTen wiki is to be believed. So it looks legit.
The question remaining: Should I get a PS4, or just play this on PS3..?
I'm really interested to see what this game will end up being like. I would enjoy them to try to make more connections back to the older Persona games if it does end up relating to the other games. If it's not going to do that outside of small references, I just hope that it stays more stand alone instead of trying to shoehorn P3 and P4 stuff into it.
In any case, I can't wait for it to come out! I need to try to find some time to play some other MegaTen games before P5 comes out.
It's still nice to see that the game seems to be playing into the pattern I saw someone notice on the Internet. The first two games had you pitted against forces of Chaos, embodied by Nyarlathotep. Then, in P3 and P4, the enemy was Death and Ignorance/Apathy, which are both pretty Neutral forces. Now it seems like the characters are against some organized, powerful entity, meaning they might be against Law this time.
You mentioned that earlier - I think it is pretty neat.
Anyway, so it appears that (based on images and those DLC costume promotions) that there will be nine characters in the team.
What's intriguing if you look at the DLC outfit images is that the person on the veery far left of the bunch is deliberately obscured. They might be an eleventh hour addition, or someone tied heavily to the main plot.
Still, it is very exciting! For so long we just got footage and information from 'the core four'.
Probably the guy on the right, right above "The Beautiful Thief"
I think he's obscured because he hasn't been in any trailers yet
I forgot that you (or someone) had mentioned that idea, Fynn. I do think that since I have little experience with the other MegaTen games, I often forget the whole law, neutral, and chaos thing. I just can't wait to see how everything comes together in this game though.
