As someone who has been in customer service for years (often as an unpaid volunteer) I feel your pain. I keep vowing never to do it again but I turn into such a money whore when I'm offered paid work of this nature. I'm a glutton for punishment.
Funnily enough, despite all my education I prefer repetitive back room stuff. There's no customers pissing me off for a start. Also because I overthink and exhaust myself mentally anyway, I would probably go into meltdown if I was asked to think at work, as I already overthink 24/7 as it is. Also I hate it when superiors change their minds about how to do things every five minutes. I also hate being micro-managed.
