Default Muhammad Ali Dies aged 74

Even if you aren't a fan of boxing, you can't deny the greatness of this man. He came out with some of the greatest quotes of all time too. I'll get some together for this thread later on but yeah... a sad day

One of the best entertainers in sporting history and had the skill to back everything he said up. It's definitely a sad day for fans of sports.

RIP Champ. Truly the title of 'Greatest' was never more fitting.

Damn this year. Time for some Fight Night Champion I think.

This is by far the worst one of the year for me, I'm absolutely devastated.

One of the very, very rare competitors and public figures who earned universal respect.

Was lucky enough to have seen him when he came to Ireland. A pure legend. R.I.P.

There are very few people who are universally considered the best of all time in their sport. Ali is at the top of that list.

I'm not sure Ali is universally considered the greatest boxer ever (greatest heavyweight maybe, but there people would also argue I'm sure). What he is widely considered as is the greatest sports figure I think for his achievements both within his sport and outside of it.

An Interview in Ireland with Ali many years back where he recites a poem. Really worth a watch.

I was upset when I saw the news trending on Facebook.

    RIP Ali.

I guess I don't need to make a new thread for this.

Watching Rocky II with Muhammad Ali

An archived article by Roger Ebert about the time he sat down with Ali to watch Rocky II. I enjoyed Ali's insight into the movie as a real professional boxer and all the things he noticed being part of the profession. I also liked how he didn't give it low marks for not being realistic to real life boxing and knew what worked for the movie. I appreciated his perspective on why Apollo Creed wanted the rematch, too, as that was something that always didn't make sense to me with the second one.

A good read if you have the time.
