Yeah, watched this recently and thought it was superb. Both the leads were fantastic.
*sings How Far I'll Go*
Rented it recently, was pretty impressed. Reminded me of old school Disney movies.
Moana is so god damn good. It's one of my favorites from Disnep.
My favorite song in this entire movie is "You're Welcome" it's just so damn catchy.
HEY IT'S OKAY, IT'S OKAY, YOU'RE WELCOME
Moana was a near perfect film for me. I absolutely loved it.
It was gorgeous. The water scenes in the beginning with baby Moana. The stingray scene with the Grandma (was this not one of the most poignant moments in a Disney movie?!). All the ancestors sailing in their ships. Freaking STUNNING. Holy cow.
Moana is basically the best princess Disney has ever had. I loved her.
I loved how they handled the ending. The slight twist with the big bad of the movie, and also the song Moana sings as she parts the sea. I straight up bawled my eyes out y'all.
I read this elsewhere afterward, but I appreciated how so many of the characters were deeply influenced by trauma and how this changed them.
AND THE MUSIC!! I cannot stop listening to the entire soundtrack. It's phenomenal and Auli'i Cravalho is so good! She killed it at the Oscars too. Also, I may have teared up in the theater as soon as Lin's voice came booming out. Siiigh. I love him.
