Apparently the only reason DQVII is finally going to see the light of day in the West is due to loyal fans, including a huge group from France, that wrote letters to SE continually to get the game a Western release.

DQX and XI's prospects of coming out in the West will really come down to the voice of the Western fans asking SE to bring them over. While there are some logistical issues with DQX, XI's hopes may come down to how well Dragon Quest Heroes II and Dragon Quest Builders does in the West.

The Dragon Quest VII remake for the Nintendo 3DS was at E3 this year, with a new trailer and a release date of September 16 of this year. Here's the trailer:

I have Heroes on Steam but a game using the DQ IP made by someone else is hardly the same as getting real DQ games.

Considering the games have never been released on WiiWare or PSN may imply that wish may never happen. I don't really know why the franchise doesn't get the same exposure as FF does.

III, VI, VII, IX, and the MMO X have job systems.

That's five out of ten main numbered games. DQ does job systems more often that FF.

To be fair to FF, their jobs stay more consistent and usually have better gameplay elements though.

Hopefully they balanced the game out a bit more. I'm pretty sure several of the changes to how the job system works in IX is a direct result on how VII handled it...
