I think I've voted myself on only a couple of occassions, I never do now, and didn't in this one! I would just feel rubbish if I won an award by one vote and it was mine, you know? I don't want it THAT badly that I will break a tie and take it from someone else, potentially. But then, like Psychotic I have won a lot of them, I have won all of the biggies I think and I'm always happy to see a wider variety of people win

At this point I'm only hanging around for a Lifetime Achievement Ciddie and if I ever get that then I shall retire from EoFF 5eva

I don't judge ALL of my self-worth on Ciddie wins... but if I don't win at least one this year, I will literally die.

Seriously though, I wish I hadn't voted for myself at all, now. Winning just because I voted for myself would suck.

I vote for myself quite a bit, honestly, but in all the cases that I won I was honestly going to win anyway judging by the number of votes, so I guess the lesson here is that I need to believe in myself - and that other people believe in me - more.

I remember this coming up in the Festival Committee page, actually. My response is the same: I don't self-vote or self-nominate out of principle, but that doesn't begrudge anyone who does. I pretty much agree with Freya. Nominating yourself is pretty harmless and if anything adds a quorum of potential voting choice. Voting for yourself is still within the rules, therefore I don't see any reason to dislike someone because of it.

I'd probably get more nominations or even outright Ciddies if I did self-vote, but I'd prefer it if I won because I was remembered and acknowledged without me nudging myself forward.

The Dude's official stance on self-voting and self-nominating is that you're all totally tubular no matter what you decide to do. Whether you want to help others more by not voting for yourself or you want to give yourself credit where you deserve it, it's all, like, equally fair. Sometimes you need to give yourself that pat on the back and stuff, and sometimes you feel like more of a giver. And stuff.

So like, the Dude says there's no one good way to vote! So a big thanks to all those who have voted so far and the Dude hopes he'll get even more votes by the deadline tomorrow!
