Not counting the handhelds (although those were great too).
I gotta go with the Super Nintendo. That was a true Golden Age for console games.

Urgh. This is a tough choice. I assume we're not including Virtual Console support?
Um...
The GameCube had some truly fantastic games, and probably my favorite controller of all time.
But the SNES was a huge step forward for gaming in general, and had one of the largest lineup of solid titles of any platform, period, including some which were among the top games of all time, and others which inspired or directly contributed to the best games of all time which came after.
Yeah, I think it really has to go to the SNES.
Well yeah, SNES.
As much as I absolutely adore the NES, I also have to go with the SNES. Almost everything I liked about the NES was done at least as well on the SNES, and it did fighting games and RPGs far better than its 8-bit counterpart, not to mention having a generally superior controller.
The SNES will always be my favorite console as it is. I know my opinion is the result of being the right age and experiencing a true jump in quality (in terms of consoles) for the first time. I wish I could experience it for the first time all over again.
It was a hard choice, but I think Gamecube is my favorite. It has my favorite controller ever, and it has so many good multiplayer games and RPGs on it.
NES
Snes.
SNES. I don't think this thread even needed a poll.
