Yosuke and Marie. I do not like Marie at all. And Yosuke got better in Golden and sequels, but he's still kinda annoying.

Probably Yosuke and... huh. I actually didn't mind Marie. But I'll go for her because I did still prefer the other girls in the core group.

It's also dumb that she totally stole Nana's looks but fails to be a character as awesome as her.

Eh. I still don't mind her, but I can understand people's dislike. I've only ever played Golden, so I don't really have a comparison, and to be honest playing vanilla 4 would feel slightly empty with Marie.

If I were to exclude non-playable characters, then it would definitely be Rise. She's good in places, but she really tears into the boys of the group sometimes, especially poor Kanji.

It's interesting how people have different criteria for the characters they like. Like, I know a lot of people base their judgment of a character on how kind or nice they are - much like they'd do in real life. For me, I like my characters more layered, nuanced, complex, and relatable. Hence why I love Junpei so much, as well as Rise and Kanji, even though they all have their troutty moments.

I remember really liking Yosuke the first time around after first playing P3, and I liked that we finally had a nicer "best friend", one that was always on your side and who never really got upset with you. After playing both years later, turns out Junpei is my favorite game character of all time while Yosuke really rubs me the wrong way.

Not saying anything is wrong with liking and disliking different things for whatever reasons, but being nice and pleasant has definitely lost some of its relevance in the way of me liking or disliking a character.

Yosuke and Marie, Yosuke is a bit too clingy among other issues he has but Marie has been pretty annoying in every incarnation I've met her in. Doesn't help she feels tacked on to the main game proper.
