Let's talk Overwatch!

I'm in the closed beta currently. I was on the fence on this team shooter but after playing it a bit, I am a convert. I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long while. I get a rush! BF keeps making fun of my deep breathing because i'm so focused on it, my hearts beating and i'm going EEP a lot! I'm not that great but I have a lot of fun.

Yesterday they released a short about one of the characters, Winston.

The actual game comes out 5/24/16 on PS4, PC, and XBOX ONE. If you preorder you can get into the Open Beta early on May 9th.

Personally my favorite characters to play are Tracer, Mercy, and Reinhardt. A lot of people don't like to play the support roles or the tank roles but often times they are important! Many go in trying to play it like it's a single player game and they're billy badasses but I've had the most successful games when the teams were balanced well and people actually used the voice chat. It's fun and I highly recommend it.

I was in the alpha (I think?) for this and played it (and streamed it) for a while. It seems like a fun shooter but honestly shooters have never really been my thing (with rare, rare exceptions like Halo and Goldeneye 007.) Nothing against Overwatch of course, I just can't get into it same as I could never get into TF2.

I'll probably eventually buy it and then not play it, because lord knows I'm addicted to giving Blizzard money

Yeah they had a beta weekend back in nov? (i saw your thread about it when I was looking to see if there was a general overwatch thread before I made this one) I wasn't in that one but it's quite a bit more polished now, from what I understand at least. It's fun!

I love the art direction of this game, and the gameplay looks fun as hell. Unfortunately I'm worried I'd get motion sickness.

Are they going to do cross platform? I know XBONE said recently they'll allow cross platform now or soon or whatever.

OH I just looked into it. No cross platform play Apparently PC tends to beat out consoles merely for reaction times of mouse and keyboard vs controller. So most FPS don't do cross platform for that reason.
