Chikorita or Cyndaquil for me. I was never a massive fan of Totodile's evolutionary line, even if the little guy himself is cute.
Cyndaquil is super adorable and turns into TYPHLOSION

They're all awesome, but Quilava is actually my favorite of the line. He's got so much personality, with that classic 90's attitude and Mohawk.
I love Quilava as well. I'm actually not the biggest fan of Thyphlosion, to be honest.

Totodile is the best. He's who I got for Mystery Dungeon.

Totodile.
I chose Cyndaquil in my file simply because I figured Fire type, like Gen 1, probably wouldn't show up until later. In hindsight, I really think Totodile is my Mon for this Gen. Either way, I really like both of them.

Chikorita and it ain't even close.
I like them all equally.
All of them are great, but Chikorita just edges out.
