Oh god...
What's the only thing worse than Florence and the Machine doing a song for Final Fantasy? Florence and the Machine doing THREE songs for Final Fantasy.
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
What's wrong with Florence + the Machine? I'm not familiar with her oeuvre, but that Stand by Me cover was just divine.
Her OTT total lack of subtelty vocals have never sat well with me, and I find her music bland. Stand By Me is a wonderful song and she just takes a sledgehammer to it. The fact she's well loved by people who otherwise have decent taste just makes it even more baffling.

Having seen her live, I have to say she's an amazing performer. This is mixing two of my favourite things!
I'm an old fogey when it comes to my Final Fantasy songs. I'd much rather take a Suteki da Ne over something re-purposed from elsewhere. Heck, I'd take 1000 Words feat. JADE from Sweetbox because at least that's an original creation for the game.
Having said that, at least the songs are pretty good. And I like the orchestrations, they make it work much better with Final Fantasy. Still though, I can't imagine we're going to have a dozen of tracks from the OST based around the melody of Florence and the Machine's 'Stand By Me,' and it's that integration with the game and story that made Eyes On Me, Melodies of Life, Suteki da Ne so powerful.
I like all three songs and have to say that I think Florence is an impressive singer.
