Everybody in the world knows how to play the in-universe equivalent of Magic the Gathering and a bunch of people have had custom cards made with the faces of their friends and family on.

Let's face it you could rename Final Fantasy VIII "High School LARP Adventures" and everything would still make perfect sense.
Not to mention that one of those Timber Owls is such a dork that he can't hold his bowels at the mere suggestion of conflict and stress.

Then there is Rinoa, a dog loving dork who shoots her beloved pet from her arm like a cannon.

There is also this little dorky looking alien who hovers around the world map demanding elixirs.



Irvine is such a dork he runs around in a terrible cosplay all the time.
