Cool Square-Enix teases new project for Mana (Seiken Densetsu) 25th Anniversary

Square-Enix teased a new project for Mana on the twitter feed for the iOS/Android port of Final Fantasy Adventure (Final Fantasy Gaiden: Seiken Densetsu in Japan) in the last few days. Square-Enix has added a new logo showcasing the franchise reaching it's 25th Anniversary milestone.

Kawazu's SaGa franchise is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary this year with Square-Enix porting older titles to mobile devices and the announcement of a new title in the franchise: SaGa: Scarlet Grace for the PSP Vita. Hopefully we'll get to see the Mana franchise receive a similar treatment.

This also comes back to speculation from the series producer who hinted in an interview that the remake/port of Final Fantasy Adventure was meant to start off a remake of the classic games in the series, as well as mentioning around Rise of Mana's release that he would love to make a new Mana title for consoles.

Never liked the Mana series. Can't put my finger on it as I love Secret of Evermore which is a very similar style, but could never finish a Mana game. Maybe I will try to again one day.

I didn't mind Sword of Mana (outside of the portrait art style, which I HATED), but that was the only game in the series I played outside of Secret of Mana. It lost a lot of what made Secret of Mana really work, in my opinion. It just wasn't as special. Not enough of the small touches.
