H really could put on a show. He carried a lot of movie on his talent alone. rIap Mr. Wonka.

I don't think I've seen a performance of his I dislike. Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Frisco Kid...
But really, he will to me always be Willy Wonka. He was what made that movie work. Such a wonderful performance. He was the ultimate mad candymaker. Off-kilter, in his own world, but a world that so perfectly fit what the chocolate factory was. He breathed life into that otherwise completely cartoonish place. He was what let us accept it.
Another great performer gone.
Oh man, he was so great in Blazing Saddles.
