Doubt it. Probably a servant of sons kind. If it was the mother, then that's really lousy writing. Notice that no one even mentions her death, let alone mourns her.
Noctis was most likely so vehement in his pursuit of Marilith because he was
(SPOILER)coping with Regis' death as that creature was threatening Noctis in the past and his father saved him. So I understand that he wanted to show his father, who's watching over him, that he can handle it on his own now. But it's still hurtful for him to think that as he's still grieving.
