Tie fighter deux
Tie fighter deux
everything is wrapped in gray
i'm focusing on your image
can you hear me in the void?
I pronounce it "Sky-blade".
If they wanted us to pronounce it a certain way, they shouldn't have given us the ability to change it to whatever name we want.
I like that the pronunciation "Tie-dus" mirrors the pronunciation of a more common name Titus, but it's definitely Tee-dus.
This isn't something you can debate. His name is said in numerous videos and games. That's like someone intentionally mispronouncing your name and them then saying, "Oh, well I say it this way."
But, as has already been said, TIDA (as in TEE-DA), his Japanese name is the Okinawan term for Sun. Just like Yuna means moon!
Heck, if ya\ll are gonna mispronounce it, might as well go ahead and pronounce Yuna "yuh-nah" since th meaning of that thing is lost anyway
indeed, if people insist on pronouncing it with a long I, might as well pronounce Rikku, Khimari, Selphie, Tiffa, & Yuffi with a long I too...
I might just do that.
see how it goes.
but really. How someone pronounces something in a game isnt really bad. I guess its bad if the insist its the correct version. (I use tie but know its tee. I just dont like its sound. Whereas yuffie selphie tifa khimari etc. All sound better with ee)
lol, i was just being facetious, of course how people pronounce it is up to them and their particular tastes as long as they don't claim it's canon or official... i myself always say Aeris instead of Aerith even though i know the latter is canon... simply because i don't like how the official sounds and had been saying it "Aeris" since FF VII first hit the U.S. shores...
i honestly can see the confusion of Tidus' name when water is so prevalent throughout this game, if one had not seen the pre-launch trailer or knew the meaning of his name prior to having played it...
I've hear that we are supposed to prononce it : Tie - Dah
But as a French Canadien i'm prononcing it Tie-duse
We all have our way to say it, I don't think that there's a real bad way to prononce it.
I pronounce it "Tee-dus", because that's how most Swedish people would instinctively pronounce it.
I am aware however that English-speaking people love the pronunciation "Tie-dus".
Sometimes I will use the Japanese name Tida as well ("Tee-dah", more or less, I guess), especially when I play the Japanese version.
I say "Tie-dus" which I know is wrong but
"Tie-duss" because I am not a DEGENERATE
