From a purely visual standpoint I have to go with Avatar. My jaw literally dropped during parts of that film. I think that the novelty of seeing 3D done that well for the first time really skews me but it was an amazing visual experience. Couldn't stand watching it again on blu-ray though.

Special mentions to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Dark Knight, Inception, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Matrix Reloaded.

Ugh, I hate these questions. I can never answer what my favorite movie is because there's too many I enjoy for different reasons. I can't just pick one that's more fun or life-changing than like a dozen others that immediately pop into mind. And it's the same with things I've seen at a cinema.

However, if I were to pick one movie I've had the most fun seeing at the cinema recently, I'd have to pick...

Inception. I had somehow been oblivious to any of the hype and didn't even know it existed, let alone any details about the plot and cast. The first I heard of it was when I was stood in the cinema lobby and my girlfriend said she had heard good things about it and I was like, well, okay, sure. I normally have to be pretty hyped about a movie to go see it so to go in completely blind, well, now I know why they call it being blindsided.

Probably my first ever time at the cinema which was to see a screening of Return of the Jedi with my dad!

A tough one, but two immediately spring to mind -

Die Hard 4.0. I was so pumped for this film going in, I'd never seen a Die Hard film in the cinema before, and I believed the hype. It didn't disappoint.

Edge of Tomorrow (Live, Die, Repeat). I took my Dad to the cinema to see this when it first came out. Wasn't expecting much, just looked like the most action-y film out at the time. I didn't expect to be so damn entertained. I suppose I went in like Psy did with Inception, and it really is a feeling that can't be beat. It remains the only film I've gone to see in the cinema twice.

    Also this:

Seriously, I was ten years old and a huge dinosaur nerd, this movie blew my mind and it's still one of a few movies I've watched multiple times at the cinema.

I will also second the Star Wars movies, along with Miyazaki films, you have to see those films in theaters to get the full experience.
