I think the big problem is they essentially started him in the 30 minute cutscene at the start of the game haha (I'm probably dramatising the length)

If you give any RPG to someone and turn the audio off it's going to be terrible. Imagine standing on a stage and playing the first 30 minutes of Fallout 3. One minute your a baby crawling around, then your at a kids birthday party and then you're in a classroom. Would seem terribly boring aswell.

They should of thrown him into a fight with a Behemoth or something. Would of sold the game much better to a mainstream audience.

I feel that was inevitable. I feel SE should understand that some of their past glory really did come down to just excellent timing on their part and trying to waste time hoping lightning strikes twice for them is a bit of fool's errand at this point.
