I thought they were so boring.

the earth one you have to go down 4 times to kill all the bosses. And it doesmt even matter since they respawn.

the fire one is pissing annoying when you get to the room with the people walking that you have to get past in time.
And I never even beat it cos I killed barbarrica and it took me out

the water one wasnt too bad. But after losing on atomos I gave up.

didnt even bother with the wind one

To be honest I skipped them too. The game was over at that point, no need to drag it on.

There are bonus dungeons in this game?
The only "bonus dungeon" I can think of right now is Castle Of Ordeals, and that's kinda grasping at straws.

I guess finding the Xcalber sword can be considered a kind of sidequest as well.

    ah, oops i shouldve said.

in the GBA version and later versions there are 4 bonus dungeons that unlock once you kill a fiend.

    Earth has FF3 bosses
    Fire has FF4 Bosses
    Water has FF5 bosses
    Wind has FF6 bosses

    Ah, alright.

I haven't played those versions yet, although I do kinda enjoy post-game content like that - especially if it contains tons of sweet bonus items!
I believe you can get various drinks and equipment such as Elven Cloak and War Hammer in those dungeons, right?

The bonus dungeon were unmemorable enough that... I don't remember them.
I did them once. That was enough. I stick with NES for most playthroughs.

I liked them the first couple of times but then I grew tired. The water and wind dungeons are definitely the more interesting of the bunch as you only really need to beat them once and they actually have some little simile quests thingies, so yeah

I remember stumbling into one on the single GBA play I did, and the enemies were trivially easy yet the dungeon was ridiculously long. More or less an exercise in patience than any sort of enjoyable gameplay.
