Chocobo Stuff

Beat FFIX recently. So my save-file is obviously on disc 4.

Just wondering, are you able to do the chocobo stuff on disc 4 with the world covered in mist? As I wanna get some ultimate weapons and Ark (beat hades already, just need that second pumice piece), and wanna beat Ozma too.

I have literally left all the chocobo stuff out. Not caught one or anything. Is it now too late?

I will do at some point, but because this was an idea for the future and not now, I'd see if I could find some answers first. As I don't wanna waste time with a load of chocobo stuff if it is not possible to do it all.

According to this thread on GameFaqs, you can find all Chocographs on disc 4, which also obviously implies that you can get all the way to Chocobo Air Garden:
