Favorite Battle Animations

So, FFIX had this rep as being obscenely slow. However, having replayed FFVII, VIII and IX all in the last year, VIII is by far the most agonizingly slow. Every single battle animation is drawn out.

I'm also replaying VII right now and it's night and day between it and VIII. That's what inspired this thread.

Cloud does his iconic sword twirl, Squall just slashes the air and puts his gunblade on his shoulder. Zidane did an awesome flip (for dagger) or a sword spin of his own (for thiefswords) and Tidus could throw his weapon in the air and catch it. So much better than Squall's pose. That's not even getting into the awesome poses in XII you get after boss fights. I loved that they varied based on what weapon you had equipped.

Anyway, the topic. Favorite battle animations for attacks or victory poses or whatever?

Oh my God, are you saying VIII is slower than VII? Because coming in after all the old FFs, the battles in VII feel super slow and every dungeon is such a slog
