Default Final Fantasy XV's DLC Updates for February and March Revealed

At the Active Time Report livestream on February 2nd, Square Enix shared details regarding their future DLC plans for Final Fantasy XV. A thread on MognetCentral has translated and details the forthcoming updates.

    February 21, 2017 DLC:

    • 60FPS PS4 Pro Patch
    • Limited Time Hunts
    • Level cap increase from 99 to 120
    • Photo cap increase from 150 to 200
    • You can use the MP3 player while riding chocobos
    • You can't save XP now to boost your level when the update arrives.

    Booster DLC (also on 2/21):
    • Boost Sword
    • Dragon Mode
    • New Fishing Reel

    According to mognetcentral:

Both packs will include new power ranger suits. They didn't exactly design the costumes to look like the Power Rangers, but somewhat the fans reactions were POWER RANGURS!
The exact date for the free version of the Booster pack is yet unconfirmed and will be revealed at a later date.
The new suits may not be exactly useful to experience players, but it may provide a better play experience for those who want to progress through the story.

March 28, 2017 Episode Gladio DLC:

    • Overall game upgrade including Chapter 13 powerup Update.
    • The update will improve the story aspect overall near the end of the chapter. Will also add various upgrades to the game.
    • Gladio episode takes place during the period where he temporarily leaves the group.
    • Focus on Gladio's fighting ability.
    • Episode Prompto (June) has more of a focus on character development.

Credit goes to reddit user 'twomongsmakearight' for organizing the information here.

The 60FPS PS4 Pro patch was initially supposed to come in December, but will finally release this month. Additionally, the February update includes many quality of life improvements fans have been asking for, such as the level cap increase and the ability to listen to music while riding chocobos.

Which update are you looking forward to the most?

Late update, but I believe it was confirmed yesterday that the "super suit DLC" will be delayed because of their strong similarity to the Power Rangers.

Did they really need anyone to tell them that?

It is not like it is their first power ranger set. Terra, Aqua and Ventus are with their armors.

I think the point is that the super suits looked a lot like the power suits from the new Power Rangers movie - right down to each bro having his own coloured suit.

Apparently Saban Entertainment reached out to SE and pointed out the similarity which is why they're being changed.

By reached out it was probably "change this trout now we didn't give you the rights to use these likenesses and will pursue this further otherwise" and SE have clearly obliged.

So we will be able to access the Gladio DLC from the main menu using a save file to carry over attributes or something?

Not sure at this point. This is how it worked with DLC like The Witcher 3, so we'll see.
