So we go around Pinnacle Rock looking for the 5 story pieces but PLOT TWIST
(SPOILER)
We only need 4! There are actually two different endings to choose from. Here is the story:
(Shoutouts to FFII)
And the two possible endings:
But I won't tell you which one I picked, I'll just leave that up to you to choose which one you like more!
With the story properly compiled, Ramuh agrees to help Garnet
Yay summon~
FFIX just casually dropping incredibly valuable life lessons in one sentence
Ramuh's voice magically appears to answer Zidane while also dropping some more great life lessons
Aww how happy is this. Finally things are going good!
Well I hope you're not getting too happy because I have some bad news
It sure is buddy! Here to bomb the crap out of Lindblum!
Brahne also sends in the black mages, of course
Which leads Zidane to noting some similarities to what's happening here and what happened in Cleyra
So Garnet and the others rush off but something stops Garnet in her tracks
Oh look, Zidane was right
Atomos is just friggin creepy looking, isn't he?
So anyways, gravity Eidolon Atomos shows up to suck up a huge chunk of Lindblum
Imagine looking outside and seeing that how terrifying that would be
Sadly, all our heroes can do is watch on
Garnet's face is just heartbreaking
We head to the heavily damaged Lindblum where Vivi is told to stay back
Because of the whole Black Mage thing
We learn that things are not going well in Lindblum. Some soldiers are pretty happy
And people everywhere have lost family
Zidane also stumbles upon a group that seems to want to torture one of the Black Mages
Unfortunately, they don't take well to Zidane's interference
You can also stop by the Inn to get some more Mognets
You can actually find Lowell in the Theatre District in a little bit when the cable cars run again before setting off. You can also find a woman panicking over finding her husband who was in the Industrial District which is 100% gone now. And he daughter is just there wondering why her mom is crying.
Ugh. The feels
See?
So after meeting up with Minister Artania, he takes us to see the Regent
Garnet is still worried about those who were left behind
Around this time, poor Vivi shows up in custody of the Lindblum soldiers
They pretend Vivi is disguised to fool the enemy. Poor Vivi being discriminated against
So now it's time to get down to business
So that means
And where do we find Kuja?
Oooh~ But how will we get there? Zidane suggests an airship
So he asks about the new airship that can fly without mist. Seems that's also a no go
The harbour is also a no go because Brahne also has that seized. So how are we supposed to get there?
Sure that sounds like a really good and not at all unreliable plan. Luckily for us, we're in a video game and 99% of rumours are true!
Before you head out you can go to the Theatre District to get Lowell, check on your two mini-thief friends at the Tantalus hideout, and pick up some stuff, including new things available for synthesis.
Speaking of synthesis, you may remember the shopkeeps son not taking his job seriously and making the flame too hot. Well now his dad's hands were badly burned by Black Mages, so he's trying to make a serious go at taking over since his dad can't synthesize anymore. He still has a ways to go unfortunately
BUT he is getting better and as a result, new stuff can be synthesized!
Once you're ready, it's time to sneak in to the castle and head to the Falcon's Gate, where Garnet expresses concern about venturing in to largely unexplored territory. She also worries that she'll lose Zidane and Vivi and wonders if she could manage by herself
We also see that Brahne and the Alexandrian troops are planning a long sea journey...
When we arrive downstairs, Cid shows up after having sabotaged the enemy
Having bought us some time, he gives us a world map and sends us on our way
We stop on the way for another mognet
And head to Qu's Marsh to look for the cave
BUUUUUT we can't get help to the Outer Continent without a little help from an old friend
And so Quina agrees to help us look because more yummy yummies.
(This is also the point where Quina becomes mandatory, everything before this was optional)
And now is a good time for a bit more grinding and side activities, so the next update might take a bit longer
Stay tuned~
