Oh, its not just Japan. Japan are just more honest about it. Pornhub's 2016 statistic showed that in North America the top 3 search terms were "step-mom, lesbian and step-sister." People feel morally obligated to put the 'step' there but the fantasy is that it's incestuous.

And EVERYONE in the western world has shipped Solid Snake and Liquid Snake at some point. That's just a fact and you'll never be able to convince me otherwise.

And while we're on the subject; I don't think Lightning & Serah is a bad ship. I'm not on board myself purely because I don't like either character and I wanna focus more on Vanille & Fang, but I could see it working if they were both just a little bit more gay.
