OH MY GOD WHY. They're like my two favourite characters in their respective game series! Ugh. You suck. Why do I have to choose between dashing rogue Saika and charming strategist Xu Shu?

Okay, I'll go for Xu Shu. I really like Saika but there's enough dashing rogues in gaming. Xu Shu has more depth. But I mean, they're both pretty hot.

Some brainy characters prefer to help the protagonist from afar, interjecting with relevant historical information and witty barbs whilst wearing a cute grey jumper. Others prefer to don some bright orange combat armour, pick up a crowbar and use that book-learning they paid so much for at MIT to calculate the best angle to hit head-crab zombies in the face.

One is a professor who not only studies strange and sometimes terrifying creatures which may originate from the depths of space, but also has to teach a stupid child how to throw a ball at a wild animal. The other's an engineer who only has space zombies to deal with.

It's all about the tech in this third bracket. One is a cyborg who you can play as a skilled hacker, and who has three degrees in criminal justice. The other is Lara Croft's resident (literally, he lives in her house) tech expert in games Legend and Underworld.
