I actually got him with Freya! Just don't jump when he does the thing and makes you think about it.
So the breather boss is out of the way. So far the really challenging ones were Sephex and Wolf Kanno. But I noticed that when you change around your setups, they don't get just slightly easier - you just win. In that way, it's pretty much the same type of difficulty as SMT or Dark Souls - you go in, die, take notes, and try again. It's fun.
That is exactly what I'm shooting for, yes! Although way easier than those games, I want everyone to win on their second or third try at worst. I've never game overed to 5 or 6, but 6 especially with all the statuses provides a little bit of a punch even if you know what you're doing.
I think once you get the game and how it works you can get through most of the rest without game overs, especially with power creep, so don't lose heart if Sephex and Kanno are pounding you!
So I can't actually unzip the game, apparently?

Doubly weird then as that's what I used to make the file. I'm at work right now so can't check it out.

Failing that, usual stuff like redownloading the file and using 7zip instead of WinRAR are worth a go.

The last fight feels very... adaptive. I've been at it a while now, and every time I change up the strategy they change as well. I'm not sure its intentional, but ughghhh.

When you say "the last fight", you're not on the final boss already are you?!
There is only one adaptive boss, by the way. And I think it'll be obvious who and what it is and why, and it's also the quickest and easiest fight there is xD

Dude nice work! No, that boss does not adapt. My advice is to try to hit some of the status effects, you should have plenty of room to make sure all four are possible. Draw Fire is also pretty useful in physical stages, I think stage 3 especially. Also if there's any phase shift that's been giving you grief, save up your best limits for that and burst through it to get onto the next one.
