Would you like one of the founding fathers of the series to work for Square-Enix, why or why not?

True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
I guess I wouldn't mind, as long as he gets to create a title from start to finish.
It's pretty much never going to happen though.
Pull my Devil Trigger!
Because I'm an idiot, what sort of games has Sakaguchi done?
Oh you know. Just, all of Final Fantasy until around X. He pretty much gave birth to the series, but that's just a little detail. Also, Chrono Trigger. Among many others, of course.
I honestly don't care. I respect the man for how he's made all this happen and I like his new stuff, but I don't have nearly the amount of reverence other fans seem to have for him. It's like, there's tons of good FFs even without him, and now he's doing his own thing. Let him do his own thing. Möbius was a huge disappointment to me.
Well I doubt he'd do any worse than anyone currently making games at Square. Sadly I haven't really enjoyed a Mist Walker game yet. I'd really rather he just get the financial backing to do something he wants. If he wants to make another Final Fantasy or similar game, sure. But I'm not sure he'd even be interested. He was slowly handing over the reigns with FFVII and VIII already, and IX was kind of his goodbye to everyone
It would be interesting to see him do another project for Square, at least one with a bigger budget. I can see him doing some kind of throwback title a la FFIX for the anniversary or something. In terms of whether The Guch could help FF in general, I highly doubt it because somethings are awesome for just that moment in time and even getting the original team back together doesn't mean they could recapture the same magic as past glories.

Well gee thanks for the not at all patronising answer.
I'm kidding, but it points out to me actually how little I pay attention to game designers and producers.
Now that I know about him, I don't see why not? Depends on what sort of games he's made most recently. Previous acclaim and success doesn't mean he hasn't lost his knack, and I don't think it's fair to boil down FF's current problems to one cure-all.
