Default Best Job System in Final Fantasy?

So I'm playing FFIII for the first time and the job system mechanic in it got me thinking about other job systems in Final Fantasy and I was curious what you guys thought was the best job system in Final Fantasy and why?

I've technically only played two games that has a job system: FFX-2 and (now) FFIII, so my opinion probably isn't the strongest. But I do really love how you can switch jobs on the fly in FFX-2. It means you make one character specialise in both offensive jobs like the Dark Knight but make them switch to a White Mage or Alchemist when you need healing.

I'm playing FFIII and it seems to be the opposite. It really wants you to stick to one job, what with the job adjustment phase and your job levels meaning you won't do nearly as well for a long time.

While it says 'Final Fantasy', I'm including Bravely Default in the poll as it really focuses on the job system and makes for a good comparison, I think.

Goddamn it, I talk about FFX-2 and I forget to include it in the poll

And so I have. It was a pretty good system, and systems go.

Never played IZJS, but if it's anything like FFXII base game jobs where you build them up by purchasing skills rather than just assigning a job and saying "You're a Black Mage now! And now you're a Ninja! Now you're a Thief!". While things like that are convenient in FFT and Bravely Default, I like how FFXII did it. But I assume IZJS did it differently. So I'm not going to vote. Since that version isn't out in America yet and I have no idea

I clicked Tactics but honestly it's a tie with FFXI.

Bravely Default gets my vote. I even described the system as FFV but better. I felt Tactics had too much.

Final Fantasy V gets it for me. It probably should be Bravely Default that gets it, but I have yet to finish it and details have become too foggy for me.

Final Fantasy X-2 was also really fun as well.

    FFX-2 without a doubt.

But it's not on the poll so I'll throw my hat in with V instead. Honorable mention to XII IZJS, which in spite of jobs being unchangeable made the game so much more fun.

    V > Tactics Series > XI > others

Haven't played X-2 or BD. I've played III but only barely.

In the past, I would have probably said FFTactics, but as I get older, I've really gravitated towards the more simplistic styles of FFIII and V. I feel V is probably the best, though overall, I'm a huge fan of the system in general and it kept me going in XI and X-2 long after I grew tired of everything else the games had to offer.

I'm sure someone else can describe it better, but here goes. Jobs at first, work like FFIII where you simply pick one up and level it, you can add weapon skills as well since XI borrowed FFII's weapon mechanics and expanded on it a bit. Once you reach, I think it was Lv 15, you could do a mission to obtain a support class. Support classes give you certain skills and traits from the second job but at half the level of the main job. So you could be a Lv. 20 Black Mage and sub a Lv. 10 White Mage. You basically only have access to the skills gained from within those levels.

At first, you only have the starting six classes from FFI, but around lv. 30ish, you could start undertaking missions to unlock advanced jobs like Geomancer, Dragoon, and Blue Mage. Overall, I had fun leveling the jobs to a point, but the game is too long of a grind to keep me invested and I simply lack the tack and patience to deal with all the social aspects of the game, so I reached a dead end pretty quickly.

FFV but X-2 is a close second. I like that you can choose a skill from another job in V

Also cute outfits to both of those

I would probably vote for FFTA2 for best overall job system. The addition of the Bazaar system really helped refine and add a bit more personalization to the job system of FFTA, which was the one I enjoyed the most prior to that once I figured out how it worked.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
