Edit: Wow, I totally got Mitsuda mixed with Sakimoto really quick. That's embarassing. If I had to vote Mitsuda, I'd go with Chrono Trigger, but I fully admit I haven't heard all of Xenogears or Chrono Cross. (HOLY CRAP, I looked up his other stuff and I never knew he worked on MARIO PARTY)

For me it's probably Xenogears. But that's heavily influenced by my love of the story and characters. It was really great synergy. So my love of one influences my love of the other.
This is a more than acceptable choice for the number two slot.
