Ashe, although I don't have much against Rikku. I like both well enough, but I feel like Ashe was the better character overall.

I can't stand Rikku so Ashe it is.

Ashe is one of the best female leads, possibly even leads in general, the franchise has ever had. So she gets my vote.

    (also name buddies!)

Oh man I love Ashe but Rikku is just the heart and soul of X. She's the ambassador of the less repressed, more technologically advanced Spira that the Yevonites seek to discriminate against. Her people are victims of genocide and she's constantly surrounded by oppression and cultural mores that clearly make her uncomfortable and she handles it like a total badass and has empathy and enthusiasm to spare, all as a young teen. She's much less nuanced in X-2 but is still loads of fun. Ashe is great, truly, but Rikku is probably the best part of FFX and is one of the best example of member of an oppressed fictional race in the medium.

Depends what you mean by strong, but you can make that point without knocking other characters down, particularly if you're going to do it in such a ham-fisted way. For my sins, I like all five of the other female characters in that comic more than Ashe.

I love them both a lot, but I'll go with Rikku.

Ashe just bugs me because she is a serious lady on a serious mission with a serious story, and you expect me to believe she's going to go around with a bright pink belt and call it a skirt? No.

And yes, I know she's in disguise but there are a million other things she could wear. And no, this isn't about sexualization in general, its about it not fitting the character. They just wanted her to show off some ass-cheek even though it didn't fit
