As for me, uhhhhhhh, so here's my favourite games list:
10. Tales of Zesteria
9. Borderlands 2
8. The Sims 3
7. Final Fantasy XII
6. Dragon Age II (representing the series)
5. Final Fantasy VII
4. Kingdom Hearts II
3. Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations (representing the series)
2. The World Ends With You
1. Persona 4: Golden
It's a really hard list because so many places switch in my head based on how recently I've played a lot of games. I'd say Persona 4: Golden most consistently finds itself at the top of my list.
The main thing that changes with the recommends list is some of the series representatives change:
10. Tales of Xillia
9. The Sims 3
8. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (or Dual Destines if series continuity and story isn't an issue)
7. Final Fantasy X (probably the remaster)
6. Final Fantasy VII
5. Kingdom Hearts (probably the remaster)
4. Mass Effect (or Mass Effect 2 if story wasn't a major issue, though I'd still recommend 1 overall)
3. Borderlands 2
2. The World Ends With You
1. Persona 4: Golden
Borderlands 2 moves up higher than expected mainly because you can recommend the game and play it alongside them. It's also just a very fun game. FFXIImoves out of the top ten because I like it but I'm not sure I'd start someone with it, I think FFX is a nicer introduction to modern FF. I mean, that's what Mr. Carny started on. Other than that, a few series have gone to the first one in the series, mainly because they're pretty story-based. Xillia is probably the better introductory Tales game than Zesteria, though.
