Both excellent characters, but Zidane gets my vote. He's more nuanced and it's cool to see a protagonist who seems to earn the loyalty and role in leadership he finds himself with. That scene in Pandemonium where literally everyone decides to hold him up because he's not a huge douche still gets to me. Giving a trout is surprisingly rare to see so emphatically portrayed.
