What SMT alignment are you?

Are you drawn by the collectivist utopia of Law? Or perhaps the social darwinism and freedom of thought inherent to Chaos are your jam?

Or hell, maybe you just wanna give both fractions the middle finger because holy hell, they both have fair points and good people but ultimately take it way too far? Going neutral is totally safe and carries no risk of extremism, right? Right?!

It depends on the game, really. In SMT4, I leaned a bit towards Chaos, but in SMT3 Chiaki's Reason was basically fascism, combining the caste system of Law with the violent nature of Chaos. Idk what Reason I'd go with in that game.

IRL, it's a much tougher call. I don't want to say Neutral, because that's the boring answer, and I'm not entirely satisfied with the status quo of my society, but neither Law nor Chaos is actually going to fix any issues

irl - Neutral leaning towards Law
Online persona - Law all the way, baby. Though, more precisely (and Death of a Fansite spoiler), it's Chaos to usurp and undermine the current authority only to usher in my own.
In games - I play the field depending on my mood, Chaos is generally more fun though

I don't think you're really giving neutral enough credit. It's not about saying things should stay the same - it's all about trying to stay unbiased and forming a path that balances out the good aspects of both law and chaos, while avoiding extremism. Of course that does carry the risk of either being stagnant or taking it to the extreme and going omnicidal (since both of the other sides are wrong and you're alone on your path, then you've pretty much made an enemy of everyone, right?). All I'm saying it's an approach that's as nuanced


As for myself, definitely count myself as neutral, if a bit more chaos-leaning than law, but I'm of the more "recognize the merits of both sides while wanting to avoid the extremes" shade rather than "let's just maintain the status quo. Honestly considering going True Demon for my Nocturne playthrough, though.

Good choice, though it's a shame Law gets such a bad rep. Sure, the extreme is pretty bad, but there's some legitimately good points there.

I mean, tbh, in SMT I find it often much easier to sympathize with Chaos. This is despite (or maybe even because of) its patron being literally Lucifer
