I'm torn. They're all great.
On the one hand I love the heavy metal aspects of XIII-2
But I also love the acoustic workings of old songs in LR

Definitely vanilla XIII. Hamauzu works best alone.
To me it was LR:FFXIII. I loved the fact that they used some of the old songs from the two previous games while adding new ones that were almost perfect. It made me feel that the game was connected with its predecessors, and created a nostalgic feeling in more than one occasion.

To me it's Lightning Returns. I really feel the story and the tragedy through its soundtrack.
I'm going to have to go Lightning Returns. The music was good in all of them, though.
I'm glad to see all the Lightning Returns love since the game itself is often considered the weakest of the three.
It's pretty good imo. The secondary missions are very well thought, and even though they are very similar to each other in terms of what you have to do to complete them, the stories behind them most of the times are interesting and compelling. The main story gives closure to most characters while also explaining the lore. And the combat system is great.

XIII-2 has Caius' Theme therefore it wins.
Then again, XIII had Dust to Dust....
Tough call but it's one of those two.
XIII no question. BUT LR has my favourite single song from the trilogy: Almighty Bhunivelze. Probably the most epic final boss theme in the series, which is fitting given what you are fighting.
Can't comment - only played a bit of the first one.
