The Silent Hill titles have pretty creepy atmosphere over all, so even if the game is light on jump scares and threatening monsters, I can see how some people may feel a bit unnerved by it. As for my playthrough, the school has not really been too bad, I've already reached the point where I'm trying to run away from everything, not because of fear, but because combat is so damn annoying. Thankfully the Grey Children are pretty easy to avoid compared to those annoying flying creatures in town.

RE2 is more jump scare type nonsense and being chased down by a murder machine. SH2 is more disturbing than actually scary. Fatal Frame 2 is probably the scariest among the three.

Haven't played Fatal Frame 2, but SH2 wasn't really scary so much as sort of depressing. WK is right that Resi 2 is all about the jump scares, but I think it does the jump scares well and a lot better than most modern games with them fwiw.

Got a lot done tonight, I'm currently traversing the sewers to reach the resort side of the town. Hospital was less creepy than I thought it would be but I'll be damned if those mothersmurfing parasite nurses soak up way more damage than they deserve to.

We'll see, I'm well aware of how to get the best ending and I've already picked up the two easiest to miss items for it.

We actually got one of the worst endings for 1, but we actually thought it was pretty cool. Though I really prefer 2's approach of there being a number of endings that aren't easily categorized into good or bad, they're just alternate paths.

    UFO ending for life.

For my Halloween gaming I'm playing Binding of Isaac. Which isn't really a horror game per se but god knows it's one of the more smurfed up games I've played. I finally beat (SPOILER)Mom's Heart for the first time ever last night. My Undertale bullet hell skills came in handy!

Done and done, Silent Hill is complete. Figured I probably wouldn't have a chance to play it for a long time afterwards so I just used a guide for the Good+ ending, though I probably would have gotten one of the two where Cybil dies had I not. Now should I continue the Silent Hill love with Silent Hill 3, restart Fatal Frame, or should I give my Steam account some love and finally play Amnesia: the Dark Descent?

If you've never played amnesia then play amnesia.

    I say Silent Hill 3!

Since getting days off work from my passing out adventure, I’ve been playing symphony of the night for my Halloween gaming fun. It’s been a ton of fun.

Closest thing to horror I ever played was Dead Rising, but it's a blast. For a while i played Costume Quest each year and I have the sequel, but for some reason battles lag on my computer. Since it relies so heavily on timed hits that's kind of very bad.

I usually liked to play games that had traditionally spooky parts in them. Big Boo's Haunt, Mad Monster Mansion, Pumpkin Zone (Mario Land 2), Pokémon Tower.
