I've never played Abyss. My vote is strictly a vote AGAINST Symphonia, because I was so disgusted with it when I played it and learned that this was the game everyone was raving about. Symphonia was a huge step back from the 2D games like Destiny. Combat is awkward and slow. Just ugh...I never got very far, but how can you blame me? I was sold a lie! Symphonia is bad. Abyss is surely at least marginally better.
I guess this is just what happens when you let RPG starved Nintendo fans decide which RPGs are great...
Tales of the Abyss is my favorite in the series. Meaning of Birth is one of my favorite boss songs.
I . . . cannot stand Luke. At all. Claude and Rena combined don't annoy me to the extent Luke does, and that's a hell of a feat. Also, ToS was the first RPG I remember playing with another person, which was kind of cool and I have fond memories of it for that reason.
I got bored playing Symphonia, and while I do own Abyss, I've yet to have the drive to check it out, so I'm going to have to abstain courteously from this round.
