Catherine wants to give you the Full Body experience...
Announced a while back, Atlus is doing a remaster of their last gen cult hit Catherine.
Catherine is the story of Vincent, a 30 something year old programmer whose girlfriend Katherine is pressuring him to step up their relationship. After having a fight about it, Vincent gets drunk and meets blonde bombshell Catherine at his local hang out. He passes out and has a nightmare where he's climbing a dangerous tower with sheep people. When he awakes the next morning, he finds Catherine in his bed, and she doesn't want this to just be a one night stand. Faced with keeping his real girlfriend in the dark about his affair and his new psycho girlfriend about his actual girlfriend; Vincent continues to be plagued by the dreams of the Tower and the Sheep. Even more disturbing is the string of mysterious deaths plaguing the town that happens to young men who have been allegedly cheating on their significant others.
Catherine: Full Body is more than just a slight graphical face lift. In typical Atlust/Team Zero/Persona fashion, they've added a bunch of new stuff, including a third girl Vincent can bring into his dysfunctional relationship named Qatherine or Rin for short. She seems to be an old friend of Vincent and plays the piano, she also seems to be aware of the Tower Nightmare. The game will feature several new animated and story sequences to fit her into the game as well as expanding on other parts of the story like a flashback sequence showing how Vincent and Katherine met.
The game also features several new gameplay elements to help players who want to enjoy the story and not worry about being brutally murdered by the puzzle game side of things, this includes a new Safety Difficulty mode, the ability to start a few spaces from where you died, and the ability to go all Sands of Time and undo a few moves that led to your death. The game, in addition to the original Local Multiplayer mode, will now feature an Online Mode for competitive play.
There is also going to be some DLC this time around. The main one being touted in the Japanese version is the ability to change Catherine's VA to your "Ideal Voice" as they'll have ten different voice actresses you can choose from. Also, for the Persona 5 fans out there, you'll have the ability to play as Joker from P5 in the optional Babel and Coliseum challenge modes. This also lets you hear the other P5 Phantom Thieves comment on his skill.
The game has a huge Limited Edition box set in Japan that will feature all this stuff and more. No word on the English version yet.
