(also, never been a fan of Flight. Like, at all)
Honestly, it's not like every track in the Chrono Titles are home runs either...

I love Flight, but probably not to the same degree some of the other Xeno fans feel. Then again, I tend to gravitate towards the slower and more emotional tracks than the get my blood pumping ones.

Well, sure, but I guess I just prefer the overall jazzy vibe CT had. Xenogears has a bit less focus, though there's still a ton of really amazing stuff here

Pokemon Red/Blue had an amazing soundtrack for a GB release.

I wanted to stay in Shevat forever! It has the best music. Better than Zeal.

I love Shevat's theme, but not as much as I love Corridors of Time which is like one of the triumvirate of awesome songs on the CT soundtrack along with Battle with Magus and Chrono Trigger.

FFXII by a distance for me. Even at Distant Worlds it's lucky if it gets anything played. Not having Uematsu in charge seemed to put hardcore Uematsu fans (which are most FF fans) off, which is unfair to Sakimoto. The music was awesome and atmospheric the whole way through, and worked perfectly for each locale of which there were many. If I were to listen to any OST without actually looking at or playing the game, it'd probably be FFXII as it holds up nicely as something to just listen to while doing pretty much anything. I've often used it as an alternative soundtrack to games in which I could mute the base music (or the game didn't have base music), for example Minecraft.

You mean Hitoshi Sakimoto. And yes, XII has a great soundtrack. Honestly, all of the Ivalice music is great - Sakimoto has this movie-like quality to his soundtracks that still sets it apart from most video game music I heard. Though I get that most video game music nowadays is film-inspired, the emphasis on melodies is still evident here.

Oof, that's what I get for lazy Googling instead of looking at my OST playlists. Google just threw that name at me when I typed FFXII composer into the url and I was like "Huh, why don't I remember that" and threw it in. Edited my post. xD

XII had a great soundtrack indeed. But it was essentially aesthetic background music, and not something immediately catchy like 'Breezy' or whatever. Though the advantage is you can listen to it and find it hard to ever tire from it (much like FFXIV's).
