Anyone playing this? It dropped just this weekend.
I'm thinking of picking it up myself but it's not a priority for spending right now so I'll hold out

I have a friend who picked it up and as talking my ear off about it last night. It sounded to me like a spiritual successor to the earlier pre-Bethesda Fallout games which is not that much of a surprise when you know who made this game.
It's less number focused and has some amusing quirks such as having low intelligence give you special dialogue options that derail conversations or doing too many hazardous actions unlocking flaws which you can take on for special bonuses at the cost of some serious detriments. He explained how he kept walking into landmines and eventually unlocked a flaw called Concussion that would make the screen look like a drunk person simulator if he had took it. Never mentioned what the bonuses would haven been.
Overall, the game sounds fun, but I already have too many titles coming up in November I'm on the lookout for, so I may get back to this one much later.
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
I have a terrible habit with these types of games where I'll lose 50+ hours to them without really achieving anything. I'm curious but might wait until:
a) It's on sale
and/or
b) I have time to kill
Ask again in a year when it comes out on Steam.
I am playing it. It is amazing.
I'm playing it right now too and so far I really love the game. I think if you're a fan of the Fall Out series, you'll like this game too.

It's basically fallout in space and better than any of the ones Bethesda has ever made.
It's also better than new Vegas if that raises said bar for you.
Well, New Vegas is a lot better than FO3 and FO4 so yes, now we are talking.
Mostly the writing and rpg aspects so far have been at least as enjoyable to me as New Vegas, and since it has nothing to do with anything made by Bethesda the combat is a lot better and the thing actually runs without any major glitches so far.
It also is in space and is extremely critical of mega corporations and end stage capitalism so major bonus points there. Much as I love a post-apocalypse I love space and hate corporations more.
