Game Series that need better writing...
Inspired by this old thread. What is a game series (i.e. more than one title in the franchise) that could use some professional ghostwriters to make them less cringy?

The Sims. I can’t understand a damn thing they’re saying.
-
"Tales of ..." series. There tends to be an awful lot of dialogue in these games, but its fairly lackluster. Really, better writing is all it would take for these games to rise above mediocrity.

Star Ocean.
Fayt Liengod OKAY IS THAT WHAT WE'RE NAMING HIM WE'RE NAMING HIM THAT? OK!!!!

I'll second Star Ocean.
I feel Kingdom Hearts is the most obvious choice as well. It started off promising and then went off rails really badly.
Metal Gear was also suffering from this as well. I never felt like it recovered completely after MGS4.
SaGa is another, though its unique in that the writing isn't necessarily bad, as much as its inconsistent to narrative norms due to the nature of the games. Romancing SaGa 1 and SaGa Frontier 2 could have been really strong titles had Kawazu made the narratives more focused and consistent.

I'm tempted to say Resident Evil, even though one could say the bad writing is part of its charm.
Warcraft - love the setting and lore, but the actual in-game story and dialogue is just never-ending disappointment.
