    And how did they smurf up so badly ?

    FFVII : Chocobo breeding and racing. best mini game and one of the best in the series.

    FFIX: Chocobo hot and cold. best mini game. One of the best in the series.


    And then we have FFX Chocobo racing. A big clunky RNG mess.

    I liked Blitzball until it gets too easy about 3 hours in.

    Blitzball was good though, at least after you get a decent team, I enjoyed it more than FF7's chocobo racing which never really becomes fun. I've never actually played FF10's chocobo racing but I'll take your word for it that it's not great.

    Blitzball (X-1 version) and Sphere Break were awesome. Although the lightning dodging is somewhat of an inside joke of how tedious it is, it felt really good when I finished it!

    I agree the chocobo racing sucks butt though.

    I maintain that the minigames aren't bad in and of themselves, but their fatal flaw is that for the rewards that actually matter you need to play them to an absolutely unreasonable degree of perfection or time, and that just makes them a horrible chore instead of the fun optional momentary diversion they should be.

    So the real question is, whoever in the hell thought it was a good idea to lock a part for the main character's ultimate weapon behind doing a chocobo race with a clear time of below 0 seconds.
