I'm in agreement that BFM's cast is one of the game's strongest points. DQVIII has a great cast, but BFM is practically defined by the cast or quirky characters. The fact the main side content is rescuing all the other eccentric townsfolk only adds to that sentiment. I would also lean more towards BFM;s side content in general because it's way less grindy.
